Policy Guideline and Procedure for Coach and Member Support.

RATIONALE AND PURPOSE
1.1 The Fremantle Rowing Club is committed to provide equitable club services and to achieve a balance between affordability and sustainable club operations. 1.2 The Fremantle Rowing Club is committed to increasing club membership and promoting the sport of rowing. 1.3 The Fremantle Rowing Club is committed to supporting club coaches and members to improve safety, member service, performance and legal obligations.

POLICY GUIDELINES
Coaching 2.1 All coaches are required to have a Recreational Skippers Ticket (RST). If coaching for the Club, the Club can pay the cost of one session of training at the Committee’s discretion. Should the coach fail to obtain the RST the first session, the coach is to pay for consecutive sessions. 2.2 All coaches are required to obtain a Working With Children check (WWC). The Club will pay full cost of obtaining a WWC for coaches and Committee Members (where relevant) ($10). The Club will pay for the full cost of obtaining a WWC for other volunteers where appropriate at the discretion of the Treasurer (eg: where a parent is a guardian for a squad of under 18’s at an overnight stay in Bunbury or a guardian at Nationals regattas). 2.3 The Club can pay the full course fee for accredited coaching (Level 1 and 2) course for a coach already coaching club crews and/or a member who intends to coach club crews. Approval for course payment is at the Committee’s discretion. 2.4 At the Committee’s discretion, the Club may financially contribute to a coaches costs where accompanying Fremantle crew/s to interstate regattas for coaching support. Support Roles 2.5 The Club may, at the Committee’s discretion, financially contribute to members and/or volunteers supporting club crews at interstate regattas. For example; squad managers and trailer towers. 2.6 The Club may, at the Committee’s discretion, financially contribute to club crews participating in interstate regattas. For example; payment of seat fees for athletes. In considering offering any financial support for any reason, the Committee is required to assess against the Club’s financial situation and impact on the whole of the Club.
